Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a fiber construction groundman. In this entry-level role, you will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground telecommunications infrastructure. This position offers opportunities for career growth and training in a fast-paced, outdoor work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Assist with the installation of underground telecommunications fiber, conduits, and associated equipment.

· Safely operate tools and equipment such as trenchers, jackhammers, compactors, and drills.

· Dig trenches, lay conduit, and backfill as required.

· Work in an outdoor environment with exposure to varying weather conditions.

· Must be comfortable working in confined spaces and near moving traffic.

· Perform maintenance and repairs on existing underground networks.

· Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

· Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to complete projects efficiently.

· Conduct site clean-up and restoration to ensure project areas are left in good condition.

· Participate in safety meetings and training programs as required. Potential for overtime and weekend work based on project needs.

Qualifications:

· Willingness to learn

· Understand installation methods (underground boring, aerial placement, splicing, etc.) a plus but not required

· Ability to read prints a plus

· Excellent communication and problem-solving skills a plus

· Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus!)

· Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

· Willingness to travel as needed

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour depending on experience
