Fenner Dunlop is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Process Engineer

at our manufacturing facility in Bracebridge, Ontario.

Fenner Dunlop, a Michelin Group company, designs and manufactures the widest range of bulk material handling conveyor belts in the world.

We strive to be the premier provider of the safest and most reliable conveyor belting and services to a variety of heavy industrial markets such as coal mining, hard rock mining, sand, gravel, wood handling, power generation, pulp and paper. Fenner Dunlop provides North American made belting, manufactured at our facilities located throughout the United States and Canada. For over 150 years, Fenner Dunlop has researched, designed, developed, manufactured, and tested its conveyor belting products, supporting nearly any type of conveyor application, and providing the right solutions to protect conveyor system investments in the harshest conveying environments.


What You’ll Do


Technical Support & Production Coordination

Serve as a technical resource for belting operations, offering floor-level guidance and support.

Review Job Travelers and generate clear, detailed setup instructions for production teams.
Monitor real-time production, testing, and shipping activities to ensure process stability and product quality.
Coordinate setup preparation for production in alignment with production schedules.
Provide prompt support during production issues across all shifts, aiding in root cause identification and resolution.
Collaborate with scheduling, material flow, and purchasing to ensure materials and resources are aligned with production needs.
Collaborate with engineering teams on new product and process development.
Conduct audits to ensure QMS compliance.
Exhibit professionalism during customer interactions and business travel.


Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

Support the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS).
Ensure testing and inspection activities are performed and documented per quality standards.
Conduct system and process audits to verify QMS effectiveness.
Investigate and help resolve non-conformance issues through inspection and root cause analysis.
Work with the Weaving Plant and participate in the customer concession process.
Analyze material, product, and process quality using statistical data and report deviations.
Support and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve quality performance.
Maintain calibration records and requirements for critical process and measurement equipment.


Specification & System Management

Create, maintain, and update product specifications, part numbers, and Bills of Material (BOMs) in relevant databases.
Ensure accuracy of records to support planning, traceability, and compliance.


Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

Act as a point of contact for internal production teams and external stakeholders including FDA and customer inquiries.
Collaborate across departments to align on quality, engineering, and production goals.
Provide day-to-day technical support to the Bracebridge Technical and Quality departments.
Maintain effective communication with team members across departments and facilities.
Support cross-functional teams in driving continuous improvement and innovation.


Safety & Compliance

Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by consistently following plant safety rules and reinforcing safe work practices.
Ensure safety principles are embedded into daily operations and decision-making.
Proactively identify and report safety risks or incidents; assist in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and external regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO).


Additional Responsibilities

Travel to company sites as needed, with up to 15% national and international travel, including overnight stays.
Maintain flexibility with working hours/schedules as necessary to meet business needs.
Exhibit professionalism at all times, including during work hours, on customer/distributor sites, and while traveling for Fenner Dunlop business.
Prioritize safety, ensuring compliance with safety protocols internally and externally while fostering a strong safety culture.
Maintain valid credentials, including a driver’s license and passport, to support job-related travel.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.


What You’ll Need

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with Engineering Change and/or Management of Change (MOC) processes.
General knowledge of statistics and statistical process control (SPC).
Working knowledge of Six Sigma principles and tools.
Knowledge of laboratory test procedures, chemical testing, and analysis techniques.
Fundamental understanding of quality principles, systems, and tools.
Proficiency in ERP, Quality, and Microsoft Office systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and decision making skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and leadership teams.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with diverse business partners, including finance, operations, sales, and supply chain teams, to drive financial accuracy, process improvements, and strategic decision-making.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality System Standard requirements.
