Job Title: Welder / Robotic Welding Operator
A robotic welding operator is responsible for programming and operating the welding robot to complete a variety of welding tasks. This can include setting up the robot for a specific welding job, programming the robot to perform the necessary welds, and monitoring the robot to ensure that it is working properly.
An individual must be able to successfully pass an internal welding test and continue to complete training on site. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Associates must be able to successfully work independently and also as a team member. A good attendance history (reliability) and a demonstrated ability to learn new concepts and skills is a must. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred;
· Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience.
· Ability to read blueprints, use calipers, protractors and machinist squares is a must; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
