Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Asphalt Paver Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be essential in executing paving projects with precision and efficiency. Reporting to the site supervisor, your role involves operating heavy equipment, to ensure high-quality surface finishes. Your core skills in heavy equipment operation and paving will be complemented by your mechanical knowledge and experience in construction. With a focus on safety and teamwork, you will contribute to the successful completion of projects while adhering to industry standards and regulations

Duties

•

This includes starting the machine, adjusting settings, and guiding it along forms or guidelines.

•

Filling tanks or hoppers with paving materials and controlling the flow of asphalt or other materials.

•

Ensuring the machine is in good working order and performing routine maintenance.

•

Adhering to safety protocols and using personal protective equipment.

•

Collaborating with other paving crew members, including dump truck drivers, laborers , and other operators.

•

Ensuring safe traffic flow around the work area.

•

Identifying and addressing any problems that may arise during the paving process.

•

Understanding the properties of different asphalt mixes and how they behave during paving

Requirements

•

Prior experience operating asphalt paving equipment

•

Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.

•

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

•

Must have valid driver's license.

•

Able to work in all weather conditions.

•

The employee is frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands.

•

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hand and arms above their shoulders.

•

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move anywhere up to 50 pounds.

Wages and Benefits:

Operators will be paid the prevailing wage per job site. (Davis Bacon Act) + Fringe Benefits
