Derrick Hand

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Derrick Hand to join our team in the oil and gas industry. The Derrick Hand will assist in the operation and maintenance of drilling equipment on oil rigs, ensuring efficient and safe operations.

Duties:

- Assist in the assembly, disassembly, and maintenance of drilling rigs

- Operate drilling equipment under the direction of the Driller

- Perform manual labor tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving materials

- Monitor and maintain proper fluid levels in drilling mud tanks

- Assist in the running of casing and cementing operations

- Participate in safety meetings and adhere to all safety protocols

- Support the overall efficiency of drilling operations

Skills:

- Experience with rigging up and rigging down equipment on an oil rig

- Knowledge of mechanical systems related to drilling operations

- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety procedures on construction sites

- Ability to work effectively in a team environment on a pipeline or tanker project

- Understanding of horizontal drilling techniques

- Proficiency in working on an oil rig

Requirements:

- Previous experience as a Derrick Hand or similar role in the oil and gas industry

- Ability to work long hours in physically demanding conditions

- Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
