Civil Engineer

Saber Power Services, LLC, (SPS) located in Houston, TX is a nationally recognized full service, EPC, specialty engineering, procurement, construction and testing and commissioning company specializing in complex medium and high voltage electrical infrastructure in North America.

The Civil Engineer is responsible for supporting the planning, design, and execution of civil components for high voltage substation and transmission line construction projects. This role provides on-site technical guidance, ensures compliance with design specifications, and helps coordinate civil activities across multiple teams to ensure timely and quality project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

•

Review civil drawings, specifications, and site plans to ensure accurate execution in the field.

•

Monitor and supervise site civil construction activities including grading, excavation, trenching, drainage, and foundation work.

•

Provide technical support to construction crews, subcontractors, and field staff to resolve issues and maintain quality standards.

•

Ensure work complies with project specifications, industry standards, and environmental regulations.

•

Perform site inspections to verify installation of civil infrastructure such as concrete pads, duct banks, cable trenches, and access roads.

•

Track project progress, site activities, and material usage; report deviations to project leadership.

•

Coordinate with structural, electrical, and geotechnical teams as needed.

•

Assist in managing permits, documentation, and redlines for as-built drawings.

•

Promote and enforce safe work practices in accordance with OSHA and company policies.

•

Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

•

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering.

•

5 years of experience in civil construction or engineering (experience in utility, power delivery, or substation projects preferred).

•

Strong knowledge of site development, concrete works, grading, drainage, and erosion control.

•

Ability to interpret engineering drawings, topographic maps, and civil layouts.

•

Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Bluebeam is a plus.

•

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, field-oriented environment.

•

Willingness to travel and work on remote job sites.

•

EIT certification preferred; PE license is a plus.
