Job description
RESPONSIBILITIES
•
Manage Aircraft Certification Projects, including: project management, vendor/customer communications, testing programs, and preparation of required technical reports.
•
Review and approve Engineering data such as technical reports, design drawings, engineering instructions, etc.
•
Mentor Jr. staff and oversee staff training priorities
•
Develop engineering solutions for repairs & modifications of aircraft and clean power generation technologies including: component & system conceptual design, 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, technical instructions, and engineering specifications.
•
Perform multi-disciplinary analysis of systems and components. This may include simulations for static stress, dynamics, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, electrical systems, and air/fluid systems.
•
Develop / introduce internal design standards and processes
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
•
B.Eng or M.Eng Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with Minimum 10 years experience
•
P.Eng License (or equivalent) is required.
•
Proven track record leading organizational excellence initiatives and/or new product development.
•
Understanding of engineering drawing standards, including GD&T, and experience with design for assembly/manufacturing.
•
Subject matter expertise in at least one area of aerospace specialization (Load Analysis, Structural / Fatigue Evaluation, Composites, Avionics, EWIS, Powerplant Installation, etc.).
•
Hands on experience with Aircraft Certification projects.
•
One or more additional certifications such as PMP, CQE, CQM, SSBB, etc.
