Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced and skilled Field Technician with expertise in excavation, helical pile installation or as a heavy-duty mechanic, and with a strong customer service background. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting and training clients on-site during installation, repair, maintenance, and pile load testing tasks. This individual will also diagnose equipment technical issues, provide expert solutions, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. Additionally, the role includes training clients on proper pile installation procedures and performing various other essential responsibilities as detailed below.
Key Responsibilities:
•Installation & Maintenance:
•Oversee and manage the installation of helical piles on-site, ensuring proper procedures are followed for maximum efficiency and safety.
•Perform regular maintenance and repairs on field equipment, including hydraulic drive motors and other machinery, to maintain operational readiness.
•Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and operational issues with hydraulic drive motors and other field equipment and provide effective repair solutions.
•Perform necessary field tests to ensure the pile installations meet project requirements.
•Customer Service & Communication:
•Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction throughout the installation and maintenance processes.
•Advise customers on the best practices and procedures for the proper installation and maintenance of helical piles.
•Provide clear and timely updates to clients regarding project status, technical issues, and resolutions.
•Produce detailed service reports on installations, repairs, and any technical issues, ensuring all documentation is accurate and submitted on time.
•Train clients on the proper installation procedures for helical piles and the safe use of field equipment.
•Offer expert advice on troubleshooting and resolving technical problems related to installation and maintenance.
•Pass necessary security clearances, background checks, and random drug screening as required for the position.
•Adhere to all safety protocols, company policies, and regulatory guidelines during installation, maintenance, and repair tasks.
Skills and Qualifications:
•Proven experience as a Field Technician, excavation foreman or heavy-duty mechanic. Experience in the installation and maintenance of helical piles or similar foundation systems is a bonus.
•Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
•Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for both hydraulic and mechanical systems.
•Proficiency in using field equipment, tools, and machinery, including the ability to repair and maintain hydraulic drive motors.
•Experience with welding and ability to perform basic welding tasks.
•Computer skills, including familiarity with service reporting software and general office programs (e.g., MS Office, Excel).
•Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate technical information to clients.
•Ability to pass background checks and random drug screenings.
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to work in various outdoor environments and weather conditions.
•Capable of lifting and carrying heavy equipment, up to 50 lbs.
•Ability to stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods of time during installation and maintenance tasks.
