Overview

The Maintenance Technician will perform maintenance and construction work relating to propane, refined fuel, and lubricant systems at company locations as directed. This technician will assist in attaining assigned goals for safety, installations, and training. Assuring safety standards are met which comply with all company, local, City, State and Federal guidelines is of the utmost importance for this position.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt and efficient maintenance and construction work relating to company owned equipment and systems
Work as part of a crew during construction or installation of any petroleum, propane, or associated equipment at company locations
Conduct maintenance and construction work as scheduled by the maintenance administrators
Clean and maintain equipment assigned to position
Perform work in a safe manner at all times according to company safety procedures
Provide home office with required information and records on a timely basis
Inspect all equipment to assure safe, dependable operations
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair system and equipment issues as assigned
Maintain inventory of parts and equipment
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as directed
Perform after-hours emergency service as necessary
Maintain inventory of non-fuel related parts and equipment
Ensure all site-specific documentation is accurately completed
Maintain accurate and complete records of all fixed assets assigned to the plant, including loaned customer equipment
Identify and timely communicate to the supervisor and other managers as appropriate, issues related to truck and equipment safety and efficiency, customer needs and inquiries, training needs and other necessary changes and/or issues
Operate vehicle safely, according to policies and guidelines set forth by law or by MFA Oil Company
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any truck safety issues immediately to supervisor, as well as maintaining truck in a neat and clean condition
Develop and maintain current knowledge of all products and services offered by MFA Oil Company
Present a positive image of MFA Oil Company to the community
Support and understand company policies and procedures and communicate those to customers as needed
Follow posted work schedule and adhere to proper clocking procedures to accurately reflect hours worked

Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent
Training and/or experience in truck and equipment maintenance
Mechanical skills (basic plumbing, electrical, and general carpentry)
Ability to learn new concepts and use technical materials
Ability to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
Valid driver’s license
Ability and willingness to become propane (CETP) certified as determined by the state(s) served
Ability and willingness to obtain a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker, HAZMAT, and air brake endorsements within the first 90 days of employment, and maintain all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements per the vehicle requirements
Ability to pass in person training and MFA Oil Company Record of Road test requiring operation of both manual and automatic transmission vehicles within 90 days of employment
Ability to safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles in a variety of weather and road conditions
Willingness to become MFA Oil crane certified
Ability and willingness to work with hazardous materials
Availability to travel and stay overnight approximately 50% of the time
Ability to move and position self to move and retrieve products and supplies from shelves, under counters or stacks of inventory weighing up to 100 pounds
Ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or sitting) for up to nine hours per shift
Ability to lift 25-pound boxes to a height of 3-4 feet and load them into trucks
Ability to ascend and descend ladders to deliver fuel
Vision, hearing, speech, and ability to detect odors
Availability to work a rotating on-call schedule, holidays, weekends, and after regular business as needed
Reliable transportation to work
Ability to exchange accurate information with MFA Oil Company customers
Ability to meet company requirements including successful pre-employment drug screening, Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), criminal background check, and MFA Oil Company road test
Legal authorization to work in the United States of America
