Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Mining Inspector to ensure the safe and efficient operation of coal mines in Dublin, Texas. As a Mining Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting mining operations, enforcing compliance with safety regulations, and promoting environmentally sustainable practices. Your primary objective will be to ensure the well-being of workers and the protection of the environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of coal mines to evaluate workplace safety, adherence to regulations, and compliance with industry standards.
- Identify potential hazards and risks associated with mining operations and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Enforce compliance with safety regulations, ensuring that all workers are following safety protocols and using appropriate protective equipment.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of safety training programs and recommend improvements as necessary.
- Conduct investigations in response to accidents, incidents, or complaints, and report findings to management and regulatory authorities.
- Collaborate with mine management and engineering personnel to develop and implement work plans that minimize safety risks.
- Monitor and assess environmental impact by evaluating mining activities and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
- Provide guidance and technical support to mine workers regarding safety procedures and best practices.
- Keep up-to-date with mining industry regulations, standards, and practices, and communicate changes to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspection findings, enforcement activities, and compliance measures.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in coal mining operations, with a specific focus on safety and environmental regulations.
- Extensive knowledge of state and federal mining regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies.
- Strong understanding of coal mining processes, equipment, and common hazards.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify potential risks.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders, including mine management, regulatory authorities, and mine workers.
- Proven ability to perform inspections and investigations independently, and produce detailed reports.
- Familiarity with relevant software and tools for data management, inspection reports, and record-keeping.
- Physical ability to work in outdoor and potentially hazardous environments.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various mining sites within the designated area.
Salary Range:
The salary range for this position starts at $10 per hour and can go up to $12 per hour, based on qualifications and experience. The salary provided is for an annual basis.
