Job Description:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Officer to join our team in the coal mining industry. As a Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, contractors, and visitors. Your primary responsibility will be to implement and enforce safety policies and procedures to minimize risks and promote a safe working environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in line with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, unsafe practices, and areas for improvement.
- Train and educate employees on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and the proper use of protective equipment.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and provide recommendations to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
- Keep abreast of new developments in safety regulations and industry best practices, and make recommendations for their implementation.
- Monitor compliance with safety regulations and company policies through inspections, audits, and regularly scheduled meetings.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and address safety concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, training sessions, and related documentation.
- Prepare reports on safety performance, incidents, and trends, and present findings to management.
- Contribute to the development and execution of safety improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar role, preferably in the coal mining industry.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices in the mining industry.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential hazards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Possess or willing to obtain relevant certifications or licenses related to safety management.
