Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Attorney to join our team in the coal mining industry. As an Attorney, you will handle a variety of legal matters related to coal mining operations, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and providing legal advice and representation. This is a full-time position based in New York City.

Responsibilities:

- Review and draft legal documents, contracts, and agreements related to coal mining operations.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to management regarding compliance with industry regulations, permits, and licenses.
- Conduct legal research and stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations affecting the coal mining industry.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings, negotiations, and settlement discussions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external counsel to manage legal risks and resolve legal issues in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with government agencies, including environmental and occupational safety authorities, to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of corporate policies and procedures relating to legal matters.

Qualifications:

- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to the New York State Bar.
- 2 or more years of relevant legal experience, preferably in the coal mining industry or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations impacting coal mining operations.
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, handling multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficient in reviewing and drafting legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

We offer competitive compensation within the salary range of $20,000 to $30,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
