Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Attorney to join our legal team in the Downstream Oil & Gas industry. Based in Chicago, Illinois, you will play a crucial role in providing legal advice, handling contracts, and resolving legal issues for our organization.

Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal counsel and guidance to the company on a wide range of issues related to Downstream Oil & Gas operations
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents while ensuring business objectives are met
- Manage litigation matters, including conducting legal research, representing the company in court, and negotiating settlements
- Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Stay updated on industry trends, changes in legislation, and legal precedents that may impact the company's operations
- Advise on risk management strategies and ensure proper implementation of legal policies and procedures
- Conduct legal due diligence for potential business transactions and acquisitions
- Provide training to employees on legal matters and best practices

Qualifications and Skills:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice law in Illinois
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as an attorney, preferably within the Downstream Oil & Gas industry
- Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and legal principles
- Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to draft and negotiate contracts effectively
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Team player with the ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally
- Experience in litigation and dispute resolution is preferred
