PROJECT MANAGER
We are looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager to plan and supervise a wide range of earthwork and utility construction projects from concept to completion. You will organize and oversee construction projects and ensure they are completed in a safe, timely and efficient manner.
The Construction Project Manager must be well-versed in heavy civil construction practices, procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve successful project completion. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and great organizational skills. The goal will be to ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and without exceeding budget.
Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
•Coordinate with engineers, architects, owners, etc. to determine the specifications of the project.
•Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.
•Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
•Evaluate progress and prepare detailed project budget and schedule reports.
•Mitigate project risk factors and promote a culture of safety.
•Secure subcontractors utilizing standard subcontract agreements.
•Hold preplanning and job start-up meetings to transfer documentation, schedules and information.
•Attend Project Manager Meetings to stay up-to-date on administrative and market conditions.
•Monitor productivity goals and build teamwork daily with the field superintendents while respecting the authority of the General Superintendent in providing training, project assignments, and skill requirements.
•Prepare project documents, material release schedules, client information, project schedules, monthly invoices, payment, closeout documents, warranties, drawings in a timely and accurate manner to give customers the best value and ensure company profitability.
•Prepare and monitor change orders to be sure they are accurate and billed in a timely manner.
Requirements:
•Proven experience as construction project manager using the HCSS Heavy Job/Bid Platform or equivalent.
•In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.
•Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
•Good knowledge of MS Office.
•Familiarity with construction/ project management software, Heavy Job, Heavy Bid and MS Project.
•Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
•A team player with leadership abilities.
•5 or more years’ experience in project management positions with an emphasis on earthmoving and infrastructure projects
•Bachelor’s degree in construction management, construction engineering, or related field a plus.
