About Us:
We are a leading provider of transportation services, managing a diverse fleet that includes over-the-road (OTR) trucks, trailers, light-duty vehicles, and mobile equipment. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This role is crucial in keeping our fleet in top condition, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance.
Responsibilities:
•Annual Inspections: Conduct thorough annual inspections to ensure all vehicles meet regulatory and safety standards.
•Routine Vehicle Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance checks and services to prevent breakdowns and extend vehicle life.
•Complete Inframe Overhaul: Overhaul engines, replacing components within the engine block, to restore performance.
•Motor/Transmission Replacement: Expertly handle the replacement of motors and transmissions, ensuring quality and efficiency.
•Diagnose and Troubleshoot: Identify and resolve complex issues related to engines, drivetrains, and other mechanical systems.
•Brake Systems: Replace and adjust brake systems, ensuring safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
•Work Area Maintenance: Keep the workshop clean, organized, and efficient, adhering to safety standards.
•Electrical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and fix electrical problems in vehicles, which could range from simple wiring issues to complex electronic systems.
Qualifications:
•Experience: A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in heavy diesel mechanics, with experience in a fleet and specifically CAT, Cummins, Powerstroke engines.
•Knowledge of Shop Equipment: Proficient with diagnostic tools, heavy lifting equipment, and specialized maintenance tools used in diesel mechanics.
•Mechanical Aptitude: Demonstrated strong mechanical skills and an aptitude for troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
•Thriving in High-Pressure Environments: Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
•Class A CDL: While not mandatory, possessing a Class A Commercial Driver's License is highly advantageous due to the nature of the fleet.
