Position Overview

Slacan is looking for someone to join our Human Resources team. Your internship will provide experience primarily in Recruitment & Selection, Administration, Labor Relations, and Organizational Behavior.

HR Intern will provide a wide range of administrative and professional support on human resources processes, policies, projects, and information systems. This role will provide support to the HR team.

Responsibilities

•

Major project: Engage with vocational schools as part of recruitment and selection strategies for hourly employee hiring.

•

Archive and organize HR data and files.

•

Maintain and standardize electronic and hard copy employee files.

•

Create correspondence and reports and provide administrative support to the HR Department.

•

Assist with recruiting activities such as scheduling interviews, candidate follow up, orientation and onboarding.

•

Participate in various Human Resources initiatives and projects in support of Company goals.

•

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Experience

•

Working towards a degree/diploma in Human Resources or other relevant discipline.

•

Knowledge of ESA, Human Rights Code, OHSA, WSIB Regulations, and other related legislation pertaining to workplace Human Resources.

Skills

•

Excellent computer skills - MS Office, Word, Excel etc. (HRIS experience an asset).

•

High attention to detail and data accuracy with strict adherence to policies and handling of confidential information.

•

Strong oral and written communication, time management, and organizational skills.

•

Quick learner and self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
