12 hour shifts: 6am-6pm or 6pm-6pm
This cycle repeats every 2 weeks, and over a 4-week period, you only work 14 out of 28 days!!!

•Shift Premium: $1.00 per hour additional for the 6pm-6am shift schedule.

Essential Functions:•Works safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by wearing appropriate safety equipment (i.e., glasses, steel-toed shoes, ear plugs, air hoods, goggles, face shield and proper prescription inserts (if required) etc.), following safe work practices and operating equipment in compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies and procedures.
•Visually inspects castings/parts – looking for defects such as: blow holes, sand holes, shrink, imperfect gates, crush, etc. – noting variances in part from visual criteria sheet/customer specifications.
•Finishes parts by observing if the part meets cosmetic standards (surface appearance or determining any defects), removing remaining ‘risers’, grinding down ‘gate’ surfaces, and comparing to visual criteria sheet image and according to work instructions.
•Operates various grinders to remove excess metal from parts.
•Operates various automated cells to process castings.
•Communicates (verbally) with peers, supervisor, and supervision to inform them of conveyor-system glitches, casting inconsistencies, quality concerns, maintenance requests, supply problems, etc.
•Work in other areas/departments when needed (i.e., shakeout, core set, melt, etc.).
•Troubleshoots work-related problems by trying to determine the source of the problem.
•Uses precision-measurement devices to ensure compliance with customer/project specifications as defined in the visual work instructions.
•Defines/categorizes defects determining if the part is to be scrapped.
•Performs minor maintenance on the grinders (replacing wheels & bits)
•Keeps work area clean by performing general housekeeping duties.
Experience Required
•Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Education, Training & Skills
•Successful completion of the RDI Team Member Selection System.
