ROLE OBJECTIVE:
Reporting to the Manager, Transmission Engineering, the Junior Line Engineer’s primary role will be to design transmission projects for Hardline Engineering clients. The Junior Lines Engineer must have previous PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, SAPS, and/or transmission experience. The Junior Lines Engineer will collaborate with various divisions including safety, stakeholder engagement & permitting, engineering, asset management, construction, accounting and procurement.
Junior and Intermediate level positions are available.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBLITIES:
•Work closely with Senior Engineer's to develop PLS-CADD models that meet all required code requirements and client standards. Including developing terrain models from scratch and building libraries from scratch including material, weather, structure and loading files.
•Preparing scopes of work, cost estimates, feasibility studies, and developing detailed design documents.
•Understanding of both underground and overhead distribution and transmission line theory and construction to make appropriate site assessments.
•Understanding of asset management and maintenance planning.
•Ensuring engineering work is consistently accurate, of a high quality, scheduled and completed to meet project deliverables.
•Manage, prioritize and effectively deliver multiple projects and work requests both internally and externally with clients.
•Looks for continuous improvement opportunities
•Leads by example regarding Health and Safety protocols and requirements.
•Perform periodic inspection audits, record finding, produce reports with recommendations and corrective action plans to ensure consistent application of EH&S procedures and practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•B.Sc. Engineering, or equivalent experience considered.
•Must be legally allowed to work in Canada.
•Must be eligible for registration with APEGA as an EIT or P.Eng.
•Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in engineering and construction for Industrial and Utility power system type projects.
•Minimum of 1-2 years of PLS-CADD experience.
•Entrepreneurial approach and the ability to take on challenges in a changing environment.
•Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives.
•Familiar with AutoCAD/MicroStation (basic knowledge of DXF vs. DGN/DWG., with ability to identify layers so they can be turned off if not required in PLS-CADD)
•Proficiency with computer systems and applications including the Microsoft Office Suite.
•Ability to manage multiple assignments with tight timelines.
•Self-motivated, positive attitude, strong client focus and results driven.
•Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with internal and external customers, stakeholders and co-workers.
•Excellent organizational skills that demonstrate the ability to resolve conflicting priorities.
•Ability to work in a team environment.
•Willing to travel from time to time for site audits and inspections.

Pay: $70,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
