B.S.L. Machine Ltd a is leading manufacturer in steel component design, fabrication and repairs including a specialty in gearing and gearbox remanufacturing.
B.S.L. has been in the machining industry since 1965, primarily serving industrial applications in the
Edmonton area.
We are currently recruiting for a manual lathe Journeyman Machinist reporting directly to the shop
Foreman.
Responsibilities:
•
Study job orders and interpret blueprints to determine operations to be performed.
•
Operate machines by setting up and adjusting three and four-jaw chucks (where applicable), tools, attachments, collets, bushings, gears, stops and indicating devices
•
Set up and operate machine tools to perform repetitive operations
•
Verify dimensions of parts machined using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
•
Work with blueprints to produce work pieces conforming to quality standards.
•
Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery.
•
Machine Specifics:*
Load, unload and move products and materials using basic material handling equipment and by hand, up to 50lbs.
•
Working on a manual engine lathe, handling & machining parts up to Ø36" x 8ft long within safe working limits
Experience:
•
Journeyman Machinist / Red Seal
•
Minimum 5 years work experience as a Journeyman Machinist (Required)
Schedule:
•
8 hours, Day shift
•
Overtime available as needed
•
Monday to Friday
•
Weekends if required
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $34.00-$41.00 per hour
