The company is seeking a TOOLMAKER.
The candidate will be responsible for fabricating parts to specification from engineering drawings. The candidate will by performing own set-ups on all shop equipment available, using Mills and Lathes, Jig bores and Jig grinders, surface grinders, and other machine shop equipment. As a Toolmaker, the candidate will also be responsible for meeting production goals including machine utilization, performing inline inspection of all their work, fixture and tooling manufacturing where required.
REQUIREMENTS
•Must have a minimum experience of 10 years as Toolmaker / Precision Conventional Machinist-Milling-Turning, O/D, I/D, Surface Grinding.
•Must have an excellent safety and attendance record.
•Must possess basic machinist tools, able to be calibrated to our Quality System requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
•Candidate must be able to design and build tooling, perform component repair activities with limited supervision.
•Operates tool room equipment at a high level of competency including manual surface grinders and mills, lathes, jig-bores and jig-grinders.
•Adheres to all company safety procedures and maintains a clean work area.
•Reads measuring and testing instruments.
•Polishes, finish grinds and assembles fixtures/gages as needed.
•Regular attendance is a requirement that is key to performing the job.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
•High school diploma or general education degree; Or vocational school diploma.
Or equivalent combination of experience and education.
•Must have previous experience as toolmaker and be skilled in the operation of lathes, milling machines, drill presses and other related equipment.
•EDM and CNC experience helpful
•Must be able to repair or revise tools as needed.
•Knowledge of metal cutting machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
•Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control for the effective manufacture of metal parts.
•Experience in the aviation industry is a preference.
•Completion of an accredited toolmaker apprenticeship program

•$20 - $28 / hour (50,000 – 75,000/year). Full time, part-time or contractor considered.
