Mainframe Developer

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Manage multiple critical Mainframe applications.

· Assist the team members to support incidents and changes.

· Investigate how jobs work and to understand business logic embedded in these applications to find incident root cause.

· Provide inputs/guidance to other teams to solve incidents.

· Manage many modernization projects by migrating Mainframe application to modern solution.

· Assist team members in future modernization projects efforts.

· Coordinate changes to computer databases, test, and implement the database applying knowledge of database management systems.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

· Associate's degree in computer programming or related field with 8 years’ experience.

· Bachelor’s degree with 5- 7 years’ experience.

· 5+ years’ hands-on experience with COBOL programming on IBM z/OS.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

· Proficiency in JCL, VSAM, DB2, IMS, and CICS.

· $AVRS experience.

· ACF2 rules experience.

· Sequential files (naming scheme) experience.

· OPC (scheduling) experience.

DESIRED SKILLS:

· Experience in mainframe migration projects or modernization initiatives.

· Prior experience with ServiceNow.

SOFT SKILLS REQUIRED:

· Good communication and interpersonal skills.

· End user knowledge in IBM mainframe and/or any ERP.

· Strong initiative and the ability to learn quickly.

· Good team skills and positivity for working in a cooperative and diverse team environment.

· Ability to work in a team environment.
