Position Summary:

The MSHA Certified Maintenance/Welder is responsible for performing maintenance, repair, and welding tasks on industrial equipment. This role requires a combination of mechanical maintenance skills and welding expertise, with a focus on maintaining equipment in compliance with MSHA standards.

Key Responsibilities:

•

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on industrial machinery and equipment, including conveyor systems, crushers, screens, and other heavy equipment.

•

Execute welding tasks, including MIG, TIG, stick, and arc welding, to repair or fabricate parts and structural components.

•

Adhere to MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) safety regulations at all times.

•

Inspect equipment to identify maintenance needs, potential issues, and areas requiring welding repairs.

•

Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to troubleshoot mechanical and structural problems.

•

Fabricate components and perform metal cutting, shaping, and fitting.

•

Maintain maintenance logs, repair records, and safety documentation.

•

Operate various tools and equipment, including grinders, cutting torches, and welding machines.

•

Coordinate with supervisors and other team members to ensure maintenance schedules are met.

•

Respond to maintenance emergencies and perform repairs promptly.

•

Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

•

Keep work areas clean, organized, and free from hazards.

Requirements:

•

MSHA Certification. (Mandatory)

•

Proficiency with MIG, TIG, stick, and arc welding processes.

•

Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and repair heavy equipment.

•

Experience with fabricating, cutting, grinding, and structural welding.

•

Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.

•

Familiarity with preventive maintenance techniques and mechanical system diagnostics.

•

Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and a valid driver’s license.

•

Basic computer skills for maintenance documentation and reporting.

•

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

•

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Physical Requirements:

•

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

•

Capability to work in confined spaces, heights, and varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, noise).

•

Prolonged standing, bending, climbing, and manual dexterity required.

•

Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and be on call for emergency maintenance.
