Responsible for sorting and lifting scrap metal material and prepare for packaging. Operate skid steer and fork lift moving metal scraps throughout yard. Assist with office as needed.
Unload metal scrap that customers bring to yard from vehicles or trailers.
Sort and lift scrap metal material (weight up to 60 pounds) – prepare for packaging.
Operate a skid steer or fork lift to move metal scrape around yard.
Operate a fork lift occasionally for shredding operation.
Ability to maintain high standards of professional manner and personal appearance.
Ability to work independently, investigates problems, initiate solutions, work under deadline constraints, and manage multiple tasks.
Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects and details simultaneously.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, use hands to finger, grasp, handle or feel, reach, crouch, bend, or kneel, and perform repetitive motions of the hands and/or wrists.
Required to stand in crouched over position approximately 6-8 hours per day.
Ability to exert 20 pounds frequently, up to 60 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Minimum mental and visual demand to perform highly routine, simple rough or closely directly work such as cleaning up or using simple tools, handling crude materials, or operating simple controls that don’t require adjustment.
