Paint & Body Technician

Elliot is a full-service electrical contractor specializing in overhead and underground distribution, transmission, substations, lighting, traffic signaling, utility locating and industrial/commercial services.

Job Description

Performs set-up, adjustment, and operation of painting equipment to apply paint coatings to truck bodies and related equipment. Performs routine maintenance on paint equipment. Monitors painting operations and makes necessary adjustments to accommodate changes in temperature and humidity. Examines finished product to ensure conformance to specifications and company quality standards.

Physical Demands

Position requires approximately 90% standing. Occasionally works in awkward positions, with bending and stooping required. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Must be capable of painting from a ladder at a vertical distance of ten feet. Must be capable of handling 55-gallon drums of paint by rolling into and out of position for drum change-over. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work Environment

Position is based in a normal shop environment. Frequent physical activity such as kneeling, bending, squatting, stooping, lifting above shoulders is a part of daily activity as well as repetitive tasks involving hand and arm motion and lifting objects over 50 pounds. Must be able to push/pull parts carts and equipment with assistance. Working environment consists of: Exposure to fumes, chemicals, dust, along with high levels of noise.
