About This Job

Plant Manager I

Location:

Wilson

At Sibelco, we advance life through materials.

For over 150 years, we’ve been a trusted leader in sourcing, transforming, and distributing specialty industrial minerals. Our work powers progress across industries as diverse as glass, ceramics, construction, coatings, polymers, and water purification. Beyond our materials, we’re proud of our commitment to sustainability, innovation, and empowering people from all walks of life to thrive and make a meaningful impact.

Are We the Perfect Match?

At Sibelco, we believe building a successful career is a two-way journey. We’re looking for individuals who share our values and vision, just as much as you’re seeking a company that aligns with your aspirations. Together, we can shape the future.

The Plant Manager reports directly to the Regional Operations Director and plays a central role in executing Sibelco’s operational strategy in North America. You will lead a key facility of our growing glass recycling network and contribute directly to our sustainability and performance goals. The role requires hands-on leadership, strategic thinking, and daily decision-making in a dynamic production environment, within the largest glass recycling network in North America.

As Plant Manager at our Wilson facility, you will oversee full-scale plant operations—leading a team of 40–60 employees while managing safety, engagement, production, quality, and cost performance. This is a unique opportunity to lead in a high-impact environment that blends local autonomy with global support.

As Plant Manager, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Safety & Sustainability

Champion a safety-first culture in collaboration with Environmental, Health, and Safety teams

Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards (local, state, and federal)
Support Sibelco’s broader sustainability goals through responsible operations
Operational Excellence & Performance
Lead end-to-end plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality, and scheduling
Drive performance improvements in cost, efficiency, uptime, and product quality
Deliver on KPIs and plant-level goals aligned with the Annual Business Plan

Team Leadership & Development

Build and lead a cohesive, engaged operations team
Promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture through training, mentoring, and performance management
Lead succession planning, talent development, and cross-training initiatives
Continuous Improvement & Change Management
Act as a “change agent,” driving innovation and lean manufacturing practices
Integrate new technologies, systems, and metrics to enhance plant performance
Lead capital projects, infrastructure upgrades, and strategic initiatives

Collaboration & Communication

Partner with internal teams (supply chain, engineering, quality, commercial) to ensure customer satisfaction
Represent the plant in stakeholder communications and performance reviews
Proactively manage internal and external relationships to ensure seamless operations

What You Bring to the Table

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations Management, or related field preferred
Minimum 8–10 years of experience in operations leadership roles, ideally within manufacturing, recycling, or industrial processing, with proven P&L accountability
Proven experience managing safety programs, production, maintenance & capital projects
Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills
