KPI is looking to add a Production Coordinator to the team! The Production Coordinator is responsible for managing daily production schedule including staffing equipment according to priority, capacity, and material availability, identifying and resolving quality issues and inventory errors, and motivating production team to ensure efficiency, safety and an overall positive work environment. This position will report directly to the Production Manager and work closely with engineering, sales, and purchasing.
Duties and Responsibilities
•Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
•Plan and establish work schedules, assignments and production sequences to meet production goals.
•Inspect materials, products or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
•Correct Mietrak errors made by production during the day and accurately track labor and efficiencies.
•Close work orders after reviewing completions.
•Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality or efficiency.
•Conduct employee training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures, or assign employee training to experience members.
•Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production processing of goods, such as machine operators, fabricators and general laborers.
•Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints or grievances.
•Requisition materials, supplies, equipment parts or repair services.
•Collaborate with safety team to develop and implement safety policies for general plant operations.
•Maintain operations data such as time, production, and cost records, and prepare management reports of production results.
•Gather non-conforming papers, review and create new work orders for replacement parts needed.
•Review forklift inspection sheets, make sure they are up to date.
•Conduct employee performance appraisals to identify areas of limitation in order to provide coaching and guidance.
•Plan and develop new products and production processes.
•Program and adjust machines and equipment.
•Contribute to team effort by performing all other duties assigned to benefit the overall goals and success of the company.
Requirements and Skills
•Associate’s degree required.
•Experience supervising employees preferably in a manufacturing environment.
•Experience with wood manufacturing and metal fabrication.
•Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
•Experience using ERP software.
•Demonstrated ability to function successfully in a dynamic, changing work environment.
•Strong leadership skills to get valuable results from direct reports.
•High degree of accountability and awareness.
