The Protective Relay Technician I/II provides technical skills as a senior level technician utilizing computer applications in the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electronic and microprocessor control systems for substation, generation, distribution and communication equipment. Assumes responsibility in the maintenance and repair of substation protective relay systems. Maintains drawings and manuals at the substation sites. Responsible for reviewing substation inspection reports for potential problems. Performs after-hour standby duty for substations, controls, communications, and generators. Provides direction and coordination in the absence of the Control System Supervisor. Develops test files and procedures for Omicron relay test set and trains other technicians on the use of relay testing. Completes substation reports and other equipment reports on a schedule by taking readings and measurements. Perform other tasks as needed.
Anticipated Hiring Range: $60,694.40 - $77,376.00 (commensurate with skills and experience)
Anticipated Hiring Range: $65,561.60 - $83,595.20 (commensurate with skills and experience)
Typical work schedule will be 4 days/10 hours per day.
This is a DOT-regulated position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing per DOT guidelines.
