Position Overview
Under minimal supervision provides direction and oversight of project assessment, performance of
improvement, and corrective action functions of the Project Quality Assurance Plan (PQAP) for the
DUF6 conversion project to ensure compliance with contract and customer requirements, U.S.
Department of Energy (DOE) Orders and federal regulations. The specific work assignment may include
duties or activities to support the organization in one or more of the following functional areas,
in addition to other duties as assigned:
Functional:
•Manages, improves, and promotes the quality system to assure compliance with the contract and
customer requirements, DOE Orders, federal regulations, and the organizational PQAP
•Reports on new/revised regulatory requirements and impact on established PQAP
•Manages quality activities at the DUF6 project to ensure management goals and objectives are
met
•Reviews and approves quality related procedures to ensure compliance with the organizational
PQAP
•Supervises, participates, and represents the project in project quality
audits/assessments
•Plans, directs, and conducts assessments of project performance
•Monitors QA program to verify effectiveness of the organizational PQAP
•Reviews project schedules for quality related activities to ensure timely and effective
implementation of the organizational PQAP
•Maintains and oversees supplier approval, independent assessment, surveillance, completion
verification, and corrective action processes
•Identifies quality non-conformances, initiates documented action, and verifies implementation of
solutions
•Directs work assignments to project QA personnel
•Oversees and facilitates the implementation of the PQAP
•Prepares reports on the effectiveness of the PQAP
•Represents the QA functions and contributes to organizational responses to regulatory and
customer requests for information
•Provides guidance on the application of codes and standards to project work
activities
•Establishes priorities for the implementation of activities by the QA organization
•Ensures QA personnel are trained and qualified to perform assigned tasks
•Develops and leads quality improvement initiatives
•Interfaces with other site manager and DOE counterpart for project quality related activities,
and with project departments to ensure quality objectives are met
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
•Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related science or equivalent
•14+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required
•4+ years of nuclear experience
•NQA-1 Lead Auditor certification (preferred)
