Hazen is seeking a Construction Inspector for water and sewer utilities projects located in Palm Beach County and Broward County. The employee in this position will work with owners, contractors, third-party firms, and Hazen engineers to support the construction and commissioning of Hazen projects.

Key Responsibilities:
•Conduct on-site observation, monitoring, inspection, and evaluation of construction activities
•Review and interpret project demolition and work plans, specifications and drawings to verify contractor compliance therewith
•Review and monitor project schedule, sequence of activities, and time extension claims
•Assist the multi-discipline engineering team in the resolution of request for information and claims
•Review contractor performance and compliance with safety requirements
•Coordinate and communicate effectively with multi-discipline teams, consultants, owners, contractors, and third-party inspection/testing firms
•Prepare daily reports, verify material quantities, and review contractor pay applications
•May supervise and train Field Coordinators
•Assist and coordinate with project start-up activities
•Maintain construction related documentation
•Travel to various project sites within Palm Beach County and Broward County
•Assist with construction administration tasks, including shop drawing processing and maintenance of documentation, change orders.
Required Qualifications:
•Minimum 5 years of relevant field construction experience, preferably in the water/wastewater/utility industry
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•Proficiency in computer software typically used (e.g., Microsoft Office, Procore, Primavera, etc.)
•Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
•Familiarity with construction methods typical of civil, structural, and mechanical engineering, and construction materials testing
•Capable of reviewing and implementing project design plans and technical specifications
•Must be capable of performing assigned office and/or field tasks without daily supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
•B.S. degree in a Civil/Environmental Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Building/Construction Science, or an Associate Degree in Engineering Science
•Engineer In Training (EIT) or Construction Manager In Training (CMIT - Construction Manager Certification Institute/CMCI) Certification
