Grade Checker

Use survey instruments to establish accurate grade for construction projects with the ability to read and understand plans. Mathematically inclined to accurately complete many functions of the job. Must work with site engineers to address problems and be able to communicate well with all operators. Must be able to walk long distances and do any groundwork crucial to the completion of the contract. Other duties as assigned.

Education

Qualifications

Detail orientated. Willing to learn and take direction. Must be able to communicate well with co-workers and client representatives. Must be able to work accurately in fast paced environment. Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies. Work overtime as necessary.

Skills

Reasoning Skills:

Must work with the site engineers to solve problems and able to communicate will with all operators.

Computer Skills

Must be proficient with survey instruments and other related computer hardware and software required for the task. Experience with Trimble GPS Rovers, Trimble Robotic Total Stations, and Trimble Business Center preferred.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, safety compliance and governmental regulations.

Physical Requirements

Must Pass Pre-employment Drug Test

Must Pass Physical Ability Test

Must be able to walk long distances and do any groundwork essentials to the completion of the contract. Work is performed in office and outdoor environments. Work may require frequent standing, walking, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds. Incumbents in this classification may be exposed to repetitive motion, extreme temperatures and weather, moving traffic, and safely maneuvering in areas under construction.
