OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for the safe and efficient production of coal by maximizing the effective utilization of the resources provided.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
•
Implements, maintains and monitors health and safety programs
•
Coordinates all mine site activities underground and surface on a rotating shift basis
•
Coordinates plans and daily/weekly activities with all supervisors
•
Must be capable of setting expectations for subordinates
•
Conducts employee appraisal evaluations
•
Approves material and supply orders
•
Plans activities on a weekly and monthly basis
•
Participates in process improvement program
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
•
Minimum High School diploma or GED equivalent
•
Extensive and diverse underground coal mining experience
•
Previous proven underground supervisory experience
•
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
•
Basic computer skills
•
Utah Mine Foreman Certification
•
Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent technical degree preferred
POSITION WILL REPORT TO: Production Manager
