About This Job

We are currently looking to hire 1 summer office intern.

The Member Services and Billing Intern will perform a variety of clerical, computer, and general office duties. He/she will be assisting, learning and performing in organizing member information and completing projects for Tri-County Electric Cooperative.


Essential Functions:

Treat members as a priority, being proactive in anticipating current and potential future needs.
Assist members, both in person and on the phone.
Update member contact information in the Cooperative's software system.
Identify and resolve service or operation issues within the scope of the Member Services department.
Answer questions about service offerings and equipment.
Develop materials to help educate members and the general public on the Cooperative's way of business.
Complete general administrative and communications support tasks.
Learn and comply with all company and safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
Learn and utilize automated equipment as required by the Cooperative.
Provide efficient, courteous service to members and the public.
Perform all other duties as assigned.


Required Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent
Currently attending college/trade school
Experience: Entry Level
Skills: Must have and maintain a valid Driver's license; have an effective working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe products; acquire a strong knowledge of Tri-County Electric procedures at the conclusion of this internship.


Working Conditions:

This is a temporary part-time internship. This position will report to Lancaster and will be required to commute to offsite locations for community events. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Standard days of work are Monday through Friday and working hours are between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. This position must be able to work flexible hours outside normal business hours, including overtime, weekends and holidays as required.


Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and/or sit for prolonged periods of time; employee must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
