Position and Responsibilities


As a member of the maintenance department, you will be responsible for non-destructive testing and condition monitoring of equipment at the refinery which includes:


Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) of plant equipment to meet statutory requirements

Carry out corrosion monitoring using ultrasonic thickness testing, preventative maintenance plans, troubleshooting inspections, etc.)
Carry out inspections to comply with material containment standards (eg. inspection of shipping containers, sumps and trenches)
Carry out inspections as per the regulatory requirements (i.e magnetic particle inspection on lifting devices).




Pressure Boundary Quality Control

Ensure weld quality on pressure boundaries meet TSSA requirements (dye penetrant, magnetic particle, and visual examinations)
Conduct NDT and witnessing hydrostatic testing on TSSA welds.
Inspecting fit-ups/hangers and checking material specifications.




Carry out condition monitoring data collection

Collect vibration and ultrasonic data on various plant equipment in accordance with maintenance plans.
Collect lubrication samples for the purposes of lubrication analysis in accordance with maintenance plans.
Collect thermographic data on electrical and mechanical assets.
Maintaining field continuous monitoring sensors.




Data entry, reporting and documentation

Prepare reports that explain test findings to proper authorities/management.
Enter data collected into the appropriate databases for analysis.




Education and Qualifications



Requirements:

Non-Destructive Testing Certification Level 1 & Level 2; or Secondary School Diploma with equivalent experience
3-5 years working within an industrial maintenance environment
Ability to plan, prioritize, organize and carry out work with minimal supervision




Assets:

Experience and understanding of NBIC, ASME codes and CSA standards.
Prior experience as condition monitoring technician/reliability technician: experience and understanding of vibration, ultrasound, thermography and lubrication analysis technologies.
