Job Summary

The QHSE Advisor – Corporate & Global Support plays a key role in driving consistent and effective Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) performance across the global Valaris fleet. This position is based in Houston and supports corporate QHSE initiatives, risk programs, incident prevention tools, and operational assurance efforts.

This role is ideal for candidates with a technical or operational background who are passionate about using systems, analytics, and structured thinking to help improve field-level outcomes—not just maintain compliance.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Supports the design, deployment, and improvement of global QHSE programs, operational risk tools, and assurance activities.
Serves as a technical partner to regional and offshore teams in implementing effective QHSE strategies that are practical and field-driven.
Contributes to the development and global rollout of risk assessment tools, job planning guides, barrier management models, and learning systems.
Collaborates with Operations, Engineering, and IT to align QHSE systems with real-world work practices.
Assists in the investigation of serious events by guiding root cause analysis, system improvement opportunities, and learning capture.
Supports performance reporting, trend analysis, and improvement tracking across QHSE systems.
Facilitates implementation of operational assurance programs, internal audits, and self-verification routines.
Helps coordinate and simplify corporate processes including safety case support, MOC tracking, permit-to-work frameworks, and regulatory interfaces.
Participates in key projects tied to digital transformation of QHSE practices and AI-enabled safety tools.
Helps prepare briefings and communications for senior leadership and regulatory stakeholders.


Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree required , preferably in engineering, science, operations, or a related technical discipline.
5+ years of experience in a technical, operational, or safety-related role—offshore oil & gas experience strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience in applying QHSE or risk tools in field environments.


Skills & Experience

Working knowledge of safety and environmental management systems (SEMS), risk assessment, and operational assurance practices.
Strong project management skills with experience leading cross-functional initiatives from concept through implementation.
Strong analytical skills with experience in using data to identify trends and drive decision-making.
Familiarity with AI-supported tools or participation in the development of digital/AI-based systems is a plus .
Comfort working cross-functionally with field teams, engineering, and corporate functions.
Solid understanding of barrier management, work execution processes, and operational interfaces.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical ideas for various audiences.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Power BI, and other business tools; experience with digital safety platforms is a plus.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, global work environment.
Travel up to 20–25% may be required (domestic and international).
