Job Description: We’re looking for an organized and detail-oriented Assistant Bookkeeper to join our team. This role requires accuracy, efficiency, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. The role will begin with more basic administrative responsibilities and will progress into more detailed accounting and bookkeeping responsibilities over time.

Key Responsibilities:

· Maintain and update accounts payable and accounts receivable.

· Reconcile bank statements and credit card statements.

· Process payroll and ensure timely and accurate payments.

· Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and respond to emails.

· Assist with data entry, filing, and document management.

· Handle confidential information with discretion.

· Provide general administrative support to different departments as needed.

· Handle invoicing, billing, and collections.

· Respond to inquiries related to financial transactions and records.

· File taxes and government remittances for GST, PST, WCB, EHT, Corp. Tax.

Qualifications:

· Proven experience in Bookkeeping or a similar role.

· Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

· Proficient in accounting software.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Knowledge of payroll systems and tax regulations.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
