VeloDyne is seeking a full-time Associate Project Manager based in Grain Valley, Missouri. Under the direction of the Manager of Projects, this position will work closely with Applications Engineering, Engineering, Purchasing, Production, and Field Service departments in execution of projects satisfying customer specifications. The Associate Project Manager will work in an externally focused role to manage engineering and technical submittals, project Bills of Material (“BOM”), and Operation and Maintenance (“O&M”) Manuals for assigned projects. Additional responsibilities include resource planning, project delivery management, oversight, and all technical activities required to assure project scope accuracy and quality from sales kickoff to completion. This role requires a balance between technical and managerial business skills. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with customer-centric personality, strong communication skills, and MS Office proficiency. A preference will be provided to those that have been directly involved in developing technical support for similar products lines in the municipal or industrial market and have had applications engineering, project engineering, or project management experience with other closely related technologies.

Essential Job Functions

Responsible for the overall planning, management, quality, and completion of system deployments within project constraints on budget/cost, time/schedule, scope, and quality.

Work with Sales and Applications Engineering departments to assess project requirements.
Review project contract documents, including plans and specifications. Determine which specifications are applicable to project scope and warrant additional review by third parties.
Identify resource requirements, meet training needs, and define project deliverables.
Work with customers and vendors to review and select materials and equipment that comply with component specification documents and application requirements.
Maintain technical submittal documents including detailed scope of supply, process description, schedule, clarifications and exceptions to contract documents, vendor-provided submittals, and product data sheets.
Prepare and enter projects into ERP system for production release.
Prepare project O&M manuals including detailed step by step operations and troubleshooting guides.
Ensure effective communications and relationships between customer(s) and project team members are maintained.
Communicate to senior management assessed risk and project status.
Maintain positive relationships and ensure effective communications between customers and project team members are maintained.
Provide customer satisfaction and reporting structures.
Maintain project related materials, including customer communications, vendor correspondence, drawings, plans, and specifications in the project library/storage system.
Comply with VeloDyne’s safety and personal protective equipment policies since customer sites may allow exposure to dangerous or hazardous conditions.
Occasional travel to customer sites to complete tasks.
Willingness to travel and work under a variety of weather extremes.
Have and maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record (MVR will be run regularly).
Perform other tasks as assigned.


Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical/chemical/civil/environmental), construction management, project management, or closely related field from an accredited college or university.
One to threee years’ experience managing projects.
Ability to read, interpret, and redline construction drawings, including mechanical, process, and electrical.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Bluebeam Revu 21.
Detailed-oriented, organized, self-starter, and able to handle multiple projects at the same time.
Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work well with others with minimal supervision.
Excellent time management skills.
Ability and willingness to travel between facilities and, on occasion, to customer sites (up to 10% of the time to locations within the continental U.S. and Canada).


Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the municipal water and/or wastewater industries.
Familiarity with mechanical components,
Made2 Manage ERP, Salesforce software, Microsoft Office Suite
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.


Physical Demands

Ability to sit for long periods of time.
Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls.
Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 25lbs.
Ability to look at computer monitors for much of the workday.


Work Environment

Approximately 80% Office Setting.
Up to 10% Light Industrial.
Up to 10% Customer Jobsites
May be exposed to a variety of weather elements as well as areas of high noise levels, hazardous propellants, chemicals. and industrial facilities.
Exposure to liquid and dry chemicals and substances associated with water and wastewater treatment, including permanganate, polymers, sodium hypochlorite, and liquid ammonium sulfate, among others.
Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions.
