Boilermaker

Position Description:

A boilermaker is a tradesperson who casts, bends, welds and assembles parts to build iron and steel structures and boilers. Their duties include operating machinery and tools to cut and shape metal and steel parts, performing tests on finished boilers and performing boiler maintenance.

A boilermakers typical duties and responsibilities include the following:

Reading manuals and blueprints for work to be performed

Casting and bending metal parts

Using power tools and machinery

Welding steel

Assembling and installing boilers

Operating and maintaining boilers

Completing checklists and boiler logs

Adhering to relevant regulations and safety standards
