Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Junior Accountant to join our finance team. This position is responsible for performing day-to-day accounting tasks, maintaining financial records, and ensuring that financial transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and a basic understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
•Record Financial Transactions: Post daily transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll entries.
•Maintain General Ledger: Ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger, and prepare trial balances for review.
•Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure that all financial data is accurate.
•Assist with Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
•Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process and track invoices, and ensure timely payment of vendor bills, as well as follow up on overdue accounts.
•Expense Tracking: Track business expenses and ensure compliance with company policies.
•Tax Preparation Assistance: Assist with tax filings, including VAT/GST, payroll taxes, and other tax-related tasks.
•Assist Senior Accountants: Support senior accountants and the accounting team with ad-hoc projects and tasks as needed.
Requirements:
•Education: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., AAT, Bookkeeping certificate, CPA) are a plus.
•Experience: 1-2 years of bookkeeping or junior accounting experience, preferably in a similar industry.
•Technical Skills: Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.). Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
•Knowledge of Accounting Principles: Basic understanding of general accounting principles and financial regulations.
•Attention to Detail: Ability to spot discrepancies and inconsistencies in financial data.
•Organizational Skills: Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
•Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills.
