Seeking motivated individual to join our Petroleum Family of Fuel Technicians to safely assist in bulk fuel tank cleaning. This position requires travel (could be out of state) 75% of the time.
· Arrive at Petroleum Tec office to meet crew at time provided.
· Safely drive company service truck to job location and get tools ready upon arrival.
· Wear (PPE) Personal Protective Equipment at all times while on job sites. PPE consists of: Petroleum Tec Safety Shirt with reflective stripes, Safety Harness/Lanyard, Hard Hat, Gloves and safety glasses.
· Climb ladder to access top of fuel tank.
· Open man ways and other ports of access.
· Check fuel and water levels with dedicated fuel stick to determine levels of each and inform team lead.
· Place 3” pull pipe into man way and hook up hose so fuel can be removed from bulk tank.
· After fuel is removed from tank, disconnect hose and remove 3” pull pipe.
· Place 2” vacuum pipe in the man way and connect 2” vacuum hose to 2” pipe.
· Vacuum remaining fuel and any trash out of the tank prior to beginning the cleaning process.
· Inform team leader when all fuel has been vacuumed out so pictures can be taken of the inside prior to cleaning.
· Work in tandem vacuuming while co-worker is pressure cleaning the inside of tank.
· Clean prescreens at the pump and ensure check valve is operational.
· Assist with transfer of clean fuel back to onsite fuel tank.
· Pull fuel samples using bacon bomb once fuel has been returned to bulk tank.
· Walk job site to gather any tools prior to leaving site.
· Work outdoors in heat and cold weather
· Capable of working in tight places if necessary
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
· Valid NC Drivers License (no driving offenses)
· Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
· Ability to travel, work out of town /state and stay overnight when needed (maybe all week)
