About This Job

We are an ornamental metalworks fabrication company seeking an experienced drafter. This position will be responsible for creating highly detailed models in AutoCAD and transforming them into construction drawings and very detailed fabrication drawings. All applicants should have shop drawing experience. Successful candidates should possess the following qualifications.

•

3-4 years of detailing and shop drawing experience.

•

Basic knowledge of welding and finishing symbols.

•

Experience with architectural metals.

•

Experience with base shoe systems and puck systems.

•

Should be capable of following established company drafting standards, utilizing templates and dimension styles.

•

Expert in AutoCad- must be able to create submittal and fabrication drawings from rough sketches and verbal instructions. 3D modeling is a plus, but not required.

•

Must be able to interpret Architectural and Engineering drawings of multiple disciplines.

•

General understanding of fabrication methods such as welding, machining, and metal forming.

•

Ability to create entire drawing packages from start to finish with little or no direction. Must understand how to create necessary sections and details to convey fabrication information.

•

Should have knowledge of creating drawings and dimensions in both paper space and model space and should be familiar with dynamic blocks and title blocks.

•

General understanding of good document control practices.
