Jackson Oil & Solvents, Inc. drivers are responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of petroleum products to wholesale and retail customers. Our drivers must be able follow specified policies, procedures and standards, under the general supervision of local fleet management. Drivers are responsible for monitoring wear and tear to maintain their rigs and equipment to ensure optimum functionality.
· Perform all required safety checks (i.e. pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations; inspect tractor/truck and trailer to insure they meet company safety standards and take appropriate action as needed. Report all safety issues and/or repairs required.
· Complete driver electronic logs and all necessary documentation as required by company.
· Drive and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule.
· Drive a tank truck/trailer to transport product in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.
· Follow all site specific standard operating procedures for the loading and offloading process.
· Communicate all incidents, including safety and environmental concerns, according to company procedures.
· Follow all company guidelines regarding professional conduct when dealing with customers, fellow employees, vendors, and the motoring public.
· Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
· Maintain contact with logistics as needed and required.
· Accurately read and complete required documentation either manually or with the use of technology (bill of lading, invoices, driver logs, mileage records, reports, etc.)
· Must be able to move or lift items over 50 pounds,
· Perform any other assigned by management to support and improve the overall team operations.
· Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with the following endorsements: HazMat, Tanker and any state requirements as required by law. (License must not contain any restrictions).
· Each drive must qualify physically, and obtain a Medical Examiner’s Certificate, under the requirements of 49 CFR, Section 391- 43-49 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
