We are seeking a reliable and skilled Chofer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials to designated locations while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and customer service.
Responsibilities
•
Operate various types of vehicles including trucks, tankers, and roll-off trucks to transport materials.
•
Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, maintaining proper weight distribution.
•
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
•
Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes taken, and cargo transported.
•
Follow all traffic regulations and company policies while on the road.
•
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise during transport.
•
Assist in training new drivers as needed.
Skills
•
Proficient in driving various types of vehicles including commercial trucks, dump trucks, tractor-trailers, and forklifts.
•
Strong understanding of manual transmission operation.
•
Ability to load and unload cargo safely and efficiently.
•
Experience with tanker operations is a plus.
•
Excellent navigation skills with a focus on time management.
•
Strong communication skills to interact with team members and clients effectively.
•
Attention to detail for vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.
