As a Civil/Structural Engineer you will be responsible for structural designs for refinery units, tanks, pipelines, and marine systems. Your goal will be to provide solutions and recommendations for any new installations and/or required modifications. You will also be responsible for civil and structural areas and all work must meet or exceed required codes.

Your Responsibilities:
•Prepare planning for civil projects including budget estimates, schedules, engineering (civil/structural) drawings, and resource requirements (people and materials)
•Act as technical advisor on the implementation of project plans working closely with other Engineering Disciplines, Project Execution, Construction, and other cross-functional teams
•Prepare Engineering Work Orders as required
•Work with Inspection teams to report on the condition of existing structures and what future actions will need to be taken
•Complete engineering calculations on civil and structural projects
•Analyze and engineer different types of structures (reinforced concrete and structural steel) and foundations to ensure adequate strength and serviceability. This includes understanding how to assess loads based on building codes and/or industry practices, structural analysis (often using 3D structural analysis software, manually or using various engineering templates)
Your Skills:
•Ability to provide maintenance and repair procedures for various structures
•Knowledgeable about structural engineering software, e.g. RISA-3D
•Strong knowledge of established codes, standards, and best practices for refining operations
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•Willingness to stay current on new technologies to enhance performance and longevity of assets
•Proactive mindset to identify design improvements
Travel
•Occasional Travel is a requirement for this role
Your Experience:
•University degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
•Knowledge of CSA structural codes & standards
•10+ years of experience, preferably in a refinery environment
•PEng certification required
