Story Construction is a 100% employee-owned general contractor, construction manager, and design-builder based out of Ames, IA. We are looking for Crew Leaders who are team players and who take responsibility and pride in the quality of their work. Crew Leaders participate in various building and construction projects using an array of equipment, tools, and processes while helping promote a safe and productive jobsite. Crew Leaders lead and mentor crews while contributing toward a safe and healthy job site, while demonstrating Story’s core values.
Work-Life Balance: We plan our work with you and your families in mind! You'll rarely have to work weekends and can enjoy a work week that rarely exceeds 40 hours. Our field staff enjoy 3 weeks of paid time off in addition to 6 paid holidays annually. This means more time for your families and hobbies!

Working Hours: Generally, expect to work 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, from 7:00AM – 4:00PM. Occasional overtime may be required.
Travel: Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected; job sites are located throughout central Iowa and across the state.
Employees may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, loud noises, and more within OSHA standards. Job duties are often performed in close proximity to other people. Employees often work in outdoor conditions that include inclement weather such as heat, humidity, cold, wind, and dust. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, stand for long periods of time, walk for moderate-to-long distances on varying surface conditions, climb, crawl, crouch, reach, grip, push, and pull without issue. Must possess adequate communicative, auditory, and visual capabilities to avoid safety hazards.
