You will be an essential member of a team of energy industry professionals that apply their knowledge and skills to find and execute upon profitable opportunities that arise within the energy supply chain. A typical day for you as a commodities analyst might include the following.
- Collecting technical and fundamental market data and storing it into a database.
- Preparing a morning report for the traders and discussing interesting trends in the data that you have observed.
- Reviewing trading logs and sending out transaction confirmations to counterparties
- Performing an ROI analysis on a potential asset management deal.
- Participating in an intraoffice bragging rights bet to guess the closest weekly storage injection.
- Identifying errors in an interstate pipeline invoice and contacting the pipeline to resolve the issue.
- Helping create a storage valuation model used for financial reporting.
- Reviewing market participant financial statements for strategic information.

The commodities analyst position is an entry level position meant for an individual with a quantitative educational background. No previous work experience is required. If you come in with the technical skills listed above, we will teach you the industry. The job does require you to relocate to Gainesville Florida and work in the office with the team. You can expect your first-year compensation to be between $68,200-$108,200 based on your knowledge and experience. All applicants authorized to work in the United States will be considered for this position, but employment sponsorship will not be offered.
