Position Overview
Reporting to the Team Leader - IT & Communications and working a two (2) weeks on / two (2) weeks off rotation with 12 hour per day shifts at the Ekati Mine site. The Communications Technician - Intern will maintain and troubleshoot a variety of communication systems which include satellite, wireless & microwave communications, Motorola based radio & paging systems, Security camera & Genetec system, Wenco Fleet control, dispatching, & Drill system, and various mine site communication systems. The student internship is from June 1, 2025 to August 31, 2025.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
+ Installation, programming & troubleshooting experience of Genetec Camera systems including Access card Control. + Installation, troubleshooting and repair of IP AXIS and PELCO Analogue cameras.
+ Installation, programming & troubleshooting of Motorola digital radio repeaters, mobile & handheld radio including Motorola Paging systems is an asset. + Install & maintain communication towers, power plants, solar array system used for day-to-day communications operations and emergency response throughout the mine site.
