In Fort Dodge, Iowa, U.S. Water operates the City's water and wastewater treatment facilities and administers the federally regulated Industrial Pretreatment Program. U.S. Water is now expanding its role by overseeing the City's new Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) Program to reduce sewer blockages and enhance wastewater treatment efficiency.
U.S. Water is seeking a FOG Program Compliance Technician to support the implementation and enforcement of the City of Fort Dodge's FOG Program. This position includes field inspections, education, and enforcement at commercial food service and industrial establishments, separate from the Industrial Pretreatment Program. The technician will report to the Industrial Pretreatment Manager and provide coverage for the Industrial Pretreatment Technician as needed.
Work is performed in both office and field settings, including commercial kitchens, industrial facilities, and wastewater infrastructure. The position may involve exposure to wastewater, odors, gases, and confined spaces. Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and working in inclement weather.
Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with occasional evening or weekend work depending on inspections or emergency response needs.
