Construction Intern (Estimation & Project Management Focus)
Hours: Monday 7:30am-5pm, and Fridays 7:30am-2pm (Paid Internship)
Duration: 12 weeks internship with potential to transition to full-time
Travel: Traveling out of state is required when visiting jobsites and when working with project managers. Early morning construction hours and schedule is expected when on active projects.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Intern to join our team for a 12-week rotation. This is a hands-on internship that offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to both project estimation as well as the overall project management processes. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, organized and interested in building a career in construction management.
Responsibilities:
•Assist estimators in preparing quantity takeoffs, cost estimates and bid packages
•Review project plans, specifications and drawings
•Attend project meetings as needed
•Support project managers with scheduling, budgeting and subcontractor coordination
•Track RFIs, submittals, and change orders
•Visit job sites to observe construction progress and processes; this will require traveling to projects across the United States
•Assist with compiling project documentation for close-out
•Perform other duties as assigned to support the team
•Work in a construction environment, indoor/outdoor, and occasional inclement weather conditions
What We’re Looking For:
•Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management or related field
•Strong interest in construction estimation and/or project management
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
•Familiarity with Bluebeam, AutoCAD or estimating software is a plus
•Strong communication and organizational skills
•Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
•Willingness to visit job sites and work in both office and field settings (travel required for a portion of the internship program
•Capacity to lift 50 Pounds
