Position Description
This Continuous Improvement Specialist focuses on driving process improvements by identifying opportunities, leading projects, and using Lean Six Sigma tools. Responsibilities include analyzing data, mapping processes, and solving problems through workshops and root cause analysis. The position also involves tracking progress with KPIs, conducting audits, and developing necessary documentation. The specialist drives innovation ensures processes align with company goals, and works to foster operational excellence across all areas.
Essential Job Functions
•Identify improvement opportunities, develop, and manage improvement plans, and lead improvement initiatives with business champions and process owners.
•Drive the implementation of innovative and creative ideas, methods, and process improvements.
•Prioritize and lead continuous improvement projects using lean six sigma methodology and tools.
•Conducting detailed analysis of the current situation that accurately describes the issues
•Develop process maps to identify current state, desired state and gap analysis.
•Analyze data using statistical data analysis methods.
•Promote operational excellence and a culture of continuous improvement.
•Conduct problem-solving, root cause analysis, KAIZEN events, and workshops.
•Review and monitor corrective and preventive actions from various sources (audits, root cause analyses, customer, and employee feedback, etc.).
•Develop and analyze key performance indicators to monitor and track the impact and benefits of improvements in support of the company's objectives.
•Conduct process audits to assess maturity and compliance.
•Implement and develop necessary procedures, flow charts, toolkits and templates.
•Drive lessons learned processes and project postmortem activities.
•Act as a change agent and challenge the status quo persistently.
•Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education/Experience Requirements
•Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, engineering or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Experience: 3 years experience in a related role
•Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent with demonstrated experience utilizing quality improvement tools and managing continuous improvement projects
•Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
•Ability to work under pressure, effectively multitasking and managing to deadline(s) in a fast-paced environment.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
•Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
•Willing to travel overnight as needed.
•Must be available to work at least 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday from 8 AM - 5 PM Eastern Time;
•Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as duties demand.
•Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
•Dependable transportation and valid driver’s license and insurance.
•Able to pass a background check/drug test/driving record check.
•Authorized to work in the United States
Physical Requirements:
•Must be able to endure frequent, lengthy periods of sedentary work and sit for prolonged periods of time.
•Must be able to utilize a computer keyboard, computer monitor, and telephone for prolonged periods of time.
•Must have the physical ability to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures,
•transcribing notes, and viewing a computer terminal; these activities require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
•Must have the physical ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word and convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, often in a group setting.
•Must have the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
