Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, experience in the food industry, and a strong understanding of food safety and meal preparation. This role is crucial in delivering high-quality meals that meet dietary standards while ensuring a safe and efficient kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
•Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
•Ensure all food handling procedures comply with health and safety regulations.
•Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including proper storage of food items.
•Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other cooking tools.
•Collaborate with the dietary department to create menus that cater to specific dietary needs.
•Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages or needs for replenishment.
•Assist in training new kitchen staff on food handling practices and meal preparation techniques.
Qualifications
•Previous experience as a Cook in a restaurant or similar kitchen environment is preferred.
•Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in meal preparation.
•Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
•Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques.
•Excellent communication skills to work effectively within a team setting.
•A background as a Dietary Aide or experience in the dietary department is a plus but not required.
